Discovered by: NGC 6015 was discovered by William Herschel on June 2, 1788. It is in the second Herschel 400 program.
Description:
NGC 6015 is a multi-armed, warped spiral galaxy in Draco, south of the bowl of the Little Dipper.
Recent studies indicate a discontinuity in the formation of the spiral arms and different rotation rates between the inner and outer arms.
There is no indication of bar formation. There is a noticeable tail emanating at the top. The tiny red objects are likely very distant galaxies.
